I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should have removed my nail polish... doesn't quite go with the whole 'horrific mockery of nature' kind of vibe I was going for. (:

Anyway, I wass studying Frankenstein and got inspired. This is the result.

I heard that scar wax flakes off very easily, is that true? :/

I wouldn't say easily, but it doesn't last very long. If you wanted something to stay for hours you would want to use a prosthetic.

Okay. Because I think the wax looks a bit better than latex, but latex does seem to last longer.

Scar wax is great for photos, and when it's used right it can look fantastic.
I'm not a huge fan of latex, I prefer gelatine but that also doesn't last long. :/

How did you manage that? And I think the nail polish almost makes it look better... especially being several days old and chipped. Gives it a decayed look.

I'm really sure how to explain how I did it. I basically just used scar wax and cake blood, and I chopped up tiny pieces of thread and pressed the ends into the wax. If that makes sense.. (:
